The Class – What to Expect and How to Succeed
1 - Work Consistently — Don’t Procrastinate.
Things will go wrong - that’s part of learning. To get the most out of this course, plan to work in Photoshop every day over the next 15 weeks
Start now - not later. The class is packed with content, and steady progress is key.
2 - Engage Fully.
Have fun, explore new techniques, share ideas, keep an open mind, respect others, work hard - and shoot more. Creative growth comes from active participation.
3 - This is a Technical Class.
While we will discuss creative choices, most feedback will focus on your technical skills.
If you’re struggling with a concept, tool or assignment - ask questions early and often. I’m here to help you succeed. Don’t wait until the last minute.

Assignment / How-To: Bridge (Br) & Photoshop (Ps)
Topics: Duotone • Batch Rename • Contact Sheet
Use your own images for this project.
Bring in a full-resolution image — do not use downloads from social media, as they are too compressed and low quality.
Start with an image that is at least 3000 pixels on the longest side.
If you don’t have a suitable image, let me know — I can provide one.
That said, it’s always more rewarding (and meaningful) to work with your own photographs. Even images captured with a smartphone are fine, as long as they’re saved at full resolution.

Week 3 - September 07, 2025 - September 13, 2025
Hey Tuesday class!
This week, we’ll be meeting at the B&H event On the NLV Campus, Media Tech Lobby — not in the classroom. We’ll be spending the entire class period there, so come prepared to photograph and explore.
Your assignment:
Create 5 to 10 strong images that document the event. Think like a documentary photographer — tell a story. Capture the atmosphere, the people, the interactions, the light. Look for moments your classmates might miss.
Push yourself creatively:
• Get high. Get low.
• Get close. Step back.
• Find a detail no one else noticed.
• Show us the big picture and the subtle moments.
This is a great opportunity to stretch your visual storytelling skills and create a set of images that feel thoughtful, intentional, and dynamic.
All classes and students are invited and encouraged to get involved and join in the fun at Tuesday’s B&H drop-in event. Whether you’re shooting for an assignment or just want to explore, come see what it’s all about!
Next week, we’ll shift back into editing with the Basic ACR Project and Advanced ACR Project. These can be worked on side-by-side and will line up with the time span of our upcoming classes.

Wednesday Class – In-Class ACR Project
If you’re in the Wednesday section, we’ll be working on the Basic ACR Project in class this week. Make sure you’ve got your files ready and questions lined up — we’ll dig into editing together.
